Providing a brief overview of our county located in the Eastern part of Hungary, we offer information about the county, the activities of the county government, our main tasks and responsibilities as well as national and international co-operations we lead or join.

Hajdú-Bihar County strongly relies on its history, economy and tourism. Strengthened by its natural and cultural heritage and values, the economic potential, traditions, wonderful sceneries and touristic attractions of the county enchant our visitors. Our land provides world-class trophies and unbelievable catches by its fish ponds, nature protection sites, look-out towers, leisure parks and unforgettable gastronomic events. Our economy is ready to exploit the talent and commitment of entrepreneurs and companies, utilizing the enormous knowledge capital gained then provided by the University of Debrecen and other higher education and vocational training institutions. Our residents are engaged to create a sustainable and liveable environment trying to find new, creative and innovative solutions.
